BURKINA FASO

Kate Chumley just returned from nearly months in Burkina Faso, West Africa shooting her documentary The Trap / Le Piege. The film follows the real story of Moussa Sourgou, an illegal immigrant who decides to go home -- against the expectations of friends and relatives and in spite of the shame attached to leaving America with empty pockets. Kate left New York with Moussa on Inaugeration Day and filmed his reunion with his wife and children after an absence of almost three years. She stayed to document the creation of a play based on his experiences.
